Marcel Dassault (1892 - 1986) was one of the biggest names in France`s aerospace industry, a pioneer of unique charisma and one of the leading engineers and enterpreneurs of his time. Born under the name of Marcel Bloch as a son of a Jewish doctor he had been one of the first ever students of aviation engineering in history.  In 1928 Marcel Dassault started his career when given  the order to construct a three engines aircraft for postal purposes by the the French state. The following year the Société des Avions Marcel Bloch was founded at Saint-Cloud near Paris. One of the first aircrafts of the company were the ambulance plane Bloch MB80 and the Bloch MB120 for the transportation of passengers. Later some successful military aircrafts followed. During the Nazi occupation of France Marcel Dassault should be forced to cooperate with the aircraft industry of the National Socialists, but he refused to do so. That was the reason why he was arrested by the Gestapo to be brought to the KZ Buchenwald, that he survived only by very lucky circumstances. Despite Marcel Dassault converted to Catholicism at Buchenwald he continued refusing any cooperation with the Nazi industry. The name of Dassault had been the pseudonym of his brother Darius Paul, who had been a general of the French Resistance. In 1949 native Marcel Bloch officially changed his name into Marcel Dassault. Dassault Aviation S.A. still has got their residence at Saint-Cloud being the world`s leader in the market of upper class business jets and they are  the sixth biggest military aircraft company in the world with some 12 000 employées working at their facilities. The first aircraft of the Falcon series  had it`s maiden flight back in 1993, the serial production started in 1994 and in 2009 the 2000th airplane of this series was delivered to it`s owner. The Falcon 2000LX is a version of the 2000EX supplied with blended winglets of Aviation Partners Inc. giving the aircraft a five per cent higher efficiency also extending the range from 7040 to 7400 kilometres. The LX replaced the EX in 2010, older EX models can be supplied with the mentioned winglets to reach the the LX technical standards. As the whole Falcon series also the 2000LX is made both for business and private customers. Most famous 2000LX owner was Germany`s seventimes automobile racing champion Michael Schumacher. The Dassault Falcon 2000LX  with the registration code D-BOBI has got  the construction number (C/N) 246, was built in 2011  and is powered by two PW308C turbofan engines of Pratt & Whitney Canada.
