EUROCOPTER EC225 Super Puma is a middle-weight multi-purpose and transportation helicopter of the 11 tons class made by French German aviation manufacturer AIRBUS HELICOPTERS. It`s new model designation is H225 from 2014 on. This helicopter had it`s maiden flight on 27th November 2000 and started it`s regular service from December 2004 on. The EC225 Super Puma II+ belongs to the  Super Puma family and is a development of the AEROSPATIALE AS332 that had it`s first ever flight in September 1978. The tasks of the EC225 are transportation of persons and equipment, search and rescue services, offshore missions (supply of drilling platforms), police and military activities. The military verson of the EC225 is called AIRBUS HELICOPTER H225 M. The length of the EC225 is some 16.8 metres, it`s width 3.4 and it`s height 4.6 metres. It´s main rotor has got five blades, it`s rear rotor four ones. The netto weight is 5.1 tons, the maximum weight under full load is 11 tons. The helicopter can carry 19 passengers.  The EC225 is powered by two French Turbomèca Makila 2A turbines; it`s maximum speed is 290 km/h. On 29th April 2016 one of the worst accidents happened to the EC225 at Norwegian Turoy, when the helicopter  completely lost his main rotor when travelling. Because of the fact that 13 persons were killed AIRBUS HELICOPTERS stopped all passenger flights using the EC225 type.
